The short version
HangUpNow is a tool that helps protect your computer from remote-control scams. Use it on computers you own or look after. It's provided free for personal use. Be kind, don't misuse it, and understand that no security tool is a guarantee.
What HangUpNow does and doesn't promise
HangUpNow significantly reduces the risk of remote-control and tech-support scams by warning you when scam tools try to run. It cannot promise to catch every scam or every tool, and it is not a replacement for care and common sense. Always stop and think before letting anyone access your computer.
Free and Pro
The core app is free for personal use. Optional paid Pro features may be offered later; their terms and price will be shown clearly before you ever pay. No charges happen without your explicit consent.
Acceptable use
Don't reverse-engineer, resell, or tamper with the app, and don't use it to harm others. We may update the app to keep its protection current.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, HangUpNow and de Montfort LLC are not liable for losses arising from scams, software faults, or misuse. The app is provided “as is.” This doesn't affect rights you have under law that can't be waived.
